PRIVACY POLICY
If you’re here, we appreciate you.
Privacy policies matter — even though they’re nobody’s favorite page to read or write.
There are important legal topics to cover, so some sections below are more formal than the rest of the site.
To make this easier, we’ve included a Condensed Version first, followed by the Full Legal Version.
Condensed Version
Accurate information matters.
The Retirement Lab is an education platform. Most of the content on this site exists to help you learn and make informed decisions about retirement, Medicare, Social Security, investing, and legacy planning.
We spend a significant amount of time researching and updating our content to keep it relevant and accurate. That said — we’re human. Typos happen. Mistakes happen.
When we find errors, we fix them. If you ever find one, we’d appreciate you letting us know so we can correct it.
We also produce a large volume of content — videos, articles, spreadsheets, ebooks, and more. Occasionally, you may come across an older version. If you’re unsure, check with us and we’ll point you to the most up-to-date resource.
Your data is personal.
We believe one of the biggest problems in the retirement space is aggressive, nonstop marketing and unsolicited outreach.
We don’t want to be part of that problem.
You control the communication between us.
If you want to talk, you let us know.
We provide forms so you can request resources or ask to connect. Filling out a form does not give us permission to bombard you with messages. We’ll respond about the specific request you made — and that’s it. Any further conversation happens only if you choose to continue.
We do not sell your information to third parties.
Online information & technology
Like most modern websites, we use technology to keep this site running smoothly and securely. This includes analytics tools to understand site performance, identify issues, and learn generally where visitors are located so we can provide relevant content and connect people with professionals licensed in their state.
We also use cookies to improve your experience — for example, so you don’t have to refill the same form multiple times.
Bottom line: you’re in control of your data.
Our goal is to provide high-quality retirement education while respecting your privacy. We believe both can coexist.
